LOCAL POLICE IN COMPETITION DURING NO SHAVE NOVEMBER

Two police departments on Wildwood’s Five-Mile Island will be competing to see who can raise more money during No Shave November. Officers in the Wildwood Crest Police Department will be going against Wildwood police to see which department can raise the most money per officer. All the money raised will be donated to the family of Joey Povio, a 7-year-old from Dennis Township who suffers from retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer. All three police departments on the island will participate in No Shave November, allowing their officers to grow beards or goatees and donate the money they would spend on shaving to cancer prevention or to aid someone fighting the disease.
