LOCAL DOCTOR INDICTED FOR TAKING NEARLY $200,000 IN BRIBES

An Atlantic County neurologist has been indicted for taking $195,000 in bribes. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office says Syed Jaffrey was named in a four-state indictment for taking bribes in return for referrals to six MRI facilities. Jaffrey has been charged with second degree health care claims fraud and a host of other offenses. If convicted, Jaffrey could get between five and ten years in prison.
