A total of 26 summons were issued for animal cruelty to a local carriage company from the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, according to a new report by the Star-Ledger. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is looking into the matter and said it is unclear if any of the animals were injured by the Cape May Carriage Company. According to the report, the issue arose over the type of spray used to keep a certain type of bug off the horses.
