Two bills crafted to help veterans get the transportation they need to get to Veterans Affairs hospitals have passed a committee and are now headed to the full Assembly for a vote. One bill provides $500,000 in state funding to counties and municipalities for transportation services for vets to get to a VA hospital. The second bill would give funding to state-run veterans’ nursing homes for transportation for any veteran who needs medical treatment outside the facility.
