Lawmakers advanced a bill on Monday that would do away with caps on superintendent salaries. The measure was heard in the Senate budget committee. The cap was put in because of abuses reported in towns. Lawmakers now feel though it is impairing districts abilities to get and keep good leaders of school districts. It is also believed that the two percent cap on spending should limit excessive increases in superintendent salaries.
