LEGISLATION BEING INTRODUCED TO ENSURE SCHOOLS DON’T GET CLOSED WITHOUT BOARD APPROVAL

A push is on in Trenton to ensure that any new school closings in the state are approved by local school boards. The discussion will be held on Thursday following a reorganization plan that Newark’s school system is undergoing. The Stop Forced Public Closures Act will be introduced shortly and plans to provide local communities with the chance to save a school if they want to.
