Good news for those who are still battling Hurricane Sandy damage. A U.S. Senate committee passed a bill this week to allow business and homeowners the chance to get low-interest federal loans. The committee voted in favor of reopening the application process for the U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loans. U.S. Senator Cory Booker sits on the committee and U.S. Senator Robert Menendez is the main sponsor of the measure. The deadline to ask for a reexamination of FEMA awards is Oct. 15.
