Now that the NJEA cancelled the New Jersey state teacher’s convention for next week, another annual conference is in danger of being cancelled. Officials at the New Jersey League of Municipalities say they will make a decision early next week on whether or not to hold their meetings, planned for November 13-15. The event is held at the Atlantic City Convention Center, which sustained no damage and has power. However, the League also uses many other venues throughout Atlantic City and must be assured that all services are up and running. The cancellation of the teacher’s convention means a loss of $10 million in revenue for the city.
