Local lawmakers have sponsored a couple of bills that will have a direct impact on Cape May County. State legislators return to work on Monday in Trenton and will consider bills that deal with coastal evacuations and a veterans home in South Jersey. Here are more details:
Legislation (A-845) sponsored by Assemblymen Matthew W. Milam, Nelson T. Albano (both D-Atlantic/Cape May/Cumberland) and Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson/Bergen) that would establish a task force to decide how best to bring a veterans’ health care facility in southern New Jersey.
Legislation (A-3224) sponsored by Milam, Albano and Assemblyman Fred Scalera (D-Essex/Bergen/Passaic) that would improve coastal evacuation plans throughout the state in preparation for an event such as a hurricane or nor’easter.
