A group of lawmakers are asking for action to be taken regarding the foreclosure crisis going on in Atlantic County. Recent reports state that one in every 258 homes in Atlantic County filed for foreclosure during the month of July. Senate President Steve Sweeney, Senator Jim Whelan, and Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo sent a letter to representatives from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency. They asked for the agencies to send representatives to Atlantic County to provide in-person assistance
