Over 1,000 state jobs will be cut after the New Year. Gov. Chris Christie said during a press conference on Wednesday that at least 1,200 jobs were on the chopping block next year. Those jobs could be a mixture of retirements through attrition, and layoffs. Layoff plans are already in development and being sent to the state’s Civil Service Commission. Christie said more cuts could be coming, depending upon the financial information the state receives heading into next year.
