Lower Township’s Council meeting involved comments against the former township engineer Remington and Vernick by Deputy Mayor Kevin Lare. Lare told Coastal Broadcasting that he was upset that the group is still doing work for the Lower Township MUA. Lare said that the township had to pay a fine over outfall pipe work that took place when the township did not have proper permitting. Remington and Vernick were the engineers of record at the time and Lare puts much of the fault on them for the mistake. Lare also referenced that the engineering firm went three times over their $1 million budget for work that was done at Bennett’s Crossing. Lare said he was upset the Lower Township MUA is having the group doing over $10 million worth of work and believes they should follow council and drop the engineers.
