The state’s Supreme court has ruled in favor of a couple who have sued Avalon over property that was taken from them almost 50 years ago. This reverses an appeals court ruling that said the borough had the right to take the land. A storm in 1962 took down the house. Edward and Nancy Klumpp said they were never told by the town they the property had been taken and the Borough of Avalon sent them ax bills year after year.
