A new amusement ride featuring King Kong will make it’s debut on the Wildwood Boardwalk on Memorial Day weekend 2015. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the new $1.3 million ride with be the centerpiece of Morey’s Surfside Pier in North Wildwood. Riders will “fly” in biplanes that will circle a giant lighthouse, climbed by a massive King Kong. The concept for the ride is a throwback to a similar attraction that first debuted in 1972 on the same pier. Over 6,000 people participated in an online survey to determine the details of the new ride, including what Kong should be holding and how menacing he should appear.
