Hamilton Township Police say they are investigating a pedestrian motor vehicle accident. The incident took place on Friday on the Black Horse Pike. The preliminary investigation indicates that Janyth C. Schaaf, 81 year old female from Somers Point, was operating her red Buick Lacrosse westbound on the Black Horse Pike in the area of the Hamilton Commons Shopping Center and Wawa. A juvenile female attempted to cross the Black Horse Pike traveling southbound from the Hamilton Commons Shopping Center toward Wawa. The juvenile did not properly cross at an intersection and entered the roadway. The juvenile was struck by Schaaf’s vehicle. The juvenile was taken to an area hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
