A Bridgeton nursery must pay back wages to dozens of U.S. workers, who were paid less per hour than foreign workers here on H-2A visas. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the U.S. Department of Labor will require Overdevest Nurseries in Bridgeton to pay $92,984 in back wages to U.S. workers plus a substantial civil penalty for work performed in 2012 and 2013. Owners of the nursery in Cumberland County are appealing the decision, claiming the foreign workers were more experienced and paid according to more advanced work requirements.
