One of the many casualties of Hurricane Sandy was the Titus Field Complex in Ventnor, home of the local junior football teams. The Ventnor Pirates celebrated the restoration of their field and recreation complex on Monday, thanks in part to a $30,000 donation from Ron Jaworski’s non-profit organization, Jaws Youth Playbook. The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was on hand for the ribbon-cutting to talk to the players, tour the field and receive a key to the city from Ventnor Mayor Mike Bagnell. The Ventnor teams also include kids from Margate, Longport and West Atlantic City.
