Wildwood Crest resident Ian Doherty and North Wildwood Beach Patrol lifeguard Riley Engel were the respective male and female winners of the Wildwood Crest 5K Beach Race held on Saturday morning. The 36 year-old Doherty, a native of Co. Donegal, Ireland, finished the race in 17 minutes, 47 seconds. More than 260 runners completed the 5K race, which was held in warm, humid conditions on an out-and-back hard-sand course that began and ended at the foot of the Wildwood Crest Beach Pier.
