INVESTIGATION ON-GOING INTO HIT-AND-RUN DEATH

The investigation continues into the hit-and-run death in Pleasantville of an Ocean City man Saturday before last, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said. At approximately 5:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, Pleasantville Police responded to Route 40 near Chestnut Avenue for a report of a man lying on the road. Upon arrival, police discovered the body of Ned J. Tobias, 37, of Ocean City, NJ, who had apparently been struck by a motor vehicle while he was operating a bicycle. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Collisions Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department are investigating this crash.
