A suspect was arrested by police in Vineland and died in transport to the hospital. The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident. Police were called for a disorderly person’s offense. Witnesses at the scene say that the officers were rough with Phillip White, who was arrested at a home on the 100 block of Grape St. The Prosecutor’s Office said that White became unresponsive inside of the ambulance on the way to the hospital. The crew tried to revive him but were unsuccessful.
