A huge jump in the county tax rate in Cumberland County in just one year. The Cumberland County Freeholders met Thursday afternoon and approved a new budget that increases the county tax rate by nearly six cents. The budget was approved during a 4-3 vote. Property taxes will cover nearly three quarters of the county’s expenses.
