HOTEL STAYS JUMPED IN SOUTH JERSEY IN 2012

New state numbers show a jump in hotel occupancies in South Jersey. Atlantic, Cumberland, and Cape May counties all saw a double digit increase from 2011 to 2012. No doubt Hurricane Sandy played a role, with FEMA paying for displaced families to stay in rooms in the less impacted South Jersey. The data collected came from the five percent occupancy tax, which is collected by the state and can track overnight stay data.
