HIT & RUN INJURES TWO IN NORTH CAPE MAY

On Saturday in Lower Township two pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run by a fugitive wanted in two states. Police reported that 45 year-old Michael Morelli of Wildwood Crest struck a woman with his car while driving on Bayshore Road near Pontaxit Avenue in North Cape May, and then struck a man a few yards away. Both victims were treated at the scene and then taken to area hospitals in stable condition. Morelli is being held on $250,000 full cash bail and awaiting extradition to Tennessee. Two passengers in the car fled the scene but were later questioned by police and issued summonses.
