Coastal Broadcasting Systems, Inc. is excited to launch Cape May County’s first-ever high school sports website that covers all of the high schools and all of the sports in Cape May County. CoastSportsToday.com launched on Wednesday, August 30th in advance of the high school sports season.
“We are proud to bring the most comprehensive online and digital presentation of high school sports coverage in South Jersey”, said Coastal Broadcasting Systems President and General Manager Bob Maschio. “The addition of former Gazette Leader Sports Editor Brian Cunniff as the Sports Editor of CoastSportsToday.com allows us to provide the coverage our girls and boys athletes deserve as they excel in athletics, and in the classrooms. Cape May County starts with families and we are honored to have the opportunity to put our local kids front and center for their important achievements”.
Cunniff will provide much of the content for CoastSportsToday.com, which includes feature stories, game recaps, previews, schedules, scores, video, and audio clips. Coverage will include all girls and boys sports for all Cape May County high schools with expanded coverage of Cape Atlantic League sports as well. The website includes links to sports news from all of the schools and includes large, front page presence for the larger sports stories. The website is sponsored by Crest Savings Bank, a long time supporter of high school athletic events and tournaments in Cape May County.
Cunniff will also appear regularly on both WCZT 98.7..the Coast and on Shore 106.3 providing daily sports reports on the radio including scores, schedules, and sound clips of the players and coaches. Many of Coastal Broadcasting Systems’s sports games will also have video streaming on CoastSportsToday.com, with the first high school football game featuring Steinert at Middle Township on Thursday, August 31st, at 6:00pm. Brian and Scott Wahl will have the play by play of that game.
Also joining the staff as a contributing editor is New Jersey Hall of Fame sportswriter and broadcaster Tom Williams, who has provided coverage of Ocean City and other high school sports on his website, www.primeevents.net. Tom and his team will be broadcasting all Ocean City High School football games and select basketball games on 106.3 The Shore and will contribute updates, stories, features, and interactive content to CoastSportsToday.com.
The website will feature both Facebook and Twitter presence as feeds are posted that will provide up to the minute sports news and progress of games that will be covered. This expanded sports coverage will also allow 98.7..the Coast and 106.3 The Shore to air additional sports games above and beyond the traditional high school football and basketball regular season, playoffs, and tournaments. Other sporting events in our region including beach patrol competitions, marathons, and other activities will also be covered.
The website allows sports fans to share photos and videos at events they are attending through a special email account, firstname.lastname@example.org. Send us your video or photos, and you may see them appear on the website!
Coastal Broadcasting Systems will present a generous sampling of some of the best high school football games in the region this fall, featuring games including teams from Middle Township, Lower Cape May Regional, Wildwood, and Ocean City high schools.
There are many sponsorship opportunities for local businesses to get involved with CoastSportsToday.com, which includes presence on the website, social media accounts, radio stations, and live streaming of games which attracts tens of thousands of listeners and viewers.
