A new proposal is gaining steam in New Jersey to not allow public and non-public schools from playing each other in football. The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Executive Committee voted to keep the 36 non-public schools from playing the public school teams in football only. The proposal passed on a 24-7 vote. It will get a second vote in June by the same committee and could get a general body vote in December to begin with the 2016 season.
