Monday is a good day for swimmers to stay out of the ocean. The National Weather Service forecasts a high risk of rip currents for the New Jersey coastline from Ocean County south to Cape May and along the beaches of southern Delaware, due to northeast winds and wave heights of 4 to 6 feet. A high risk of rip currents means dangerous and potentially life threatening conditions exist for all people entering the surf. Swimmers should be especially careful as lifeguards are no longer on duty in most locations.
