HIGH POWERED LASER POINTERS NOW ILLEGAL IN OCEAN CITY

The Ocean City Council has banned the possession or use of high powered laser pointers.  Council passed a measure that would prohibit anyone from using the laser pointers in the resort.  Some people have bought the pointers and pointed the laser beam at aircraft, which can be a major hazard for pilots.  Fines of up to $500 are associated with breaking the new law.  Store owners who sell the pointers can also be subjected to cash fines.
