Hundreds of people turned out on Sunday in Ocean City for the sixth annual HERO Walk fundraiser to honor the memory of John R. Elliot. The U.S. Naval Academy graduate was just 22 when he was killed by a drunk driver. His parents later started the HERO campaign to promote designated drivers and lobby for tougher drunk driving laws. The organization recognized the Horne family, who raised over $15,000 for the HERO Campaign, by running a charity golf tournament for their son Chad, who was also killed by a drunk driver.
