On Sunday morning the 5th annual “John R. Elliot Hero Walk” was held on the Ocean City Boardwalk. The hero walk campaign was started to remember Naval Academy graduate John Elliot, who was struck and killed by a drunk driver. The walk drew nearly two thousand participants to support the Hero Campaign. The program promotes the use of designated drivers to help prevent drunk driving tragedies. Drunk drivers cause the death of over ten thousand people per year.
