Senator Paul Sarlo, the chairman of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, called upon Atlantic City officials “to get their heads out of the sand” and work in support of the proposal to expand gaming to North Jersey as the best way to revive the casino industry in their city. Sarlo says the pending closure of the Trump Taj Mahal should “serve as a wake-up call for Atlantic City officials to take advantage of the benefits of casino expansion.” Senator Sarlo says the expansion would provide an estimated $200 million a year for Atlantic City so they could invest in economic expansion.
