Cumberland County residents will have one more opportunity to exchange their guns for food gift cards this Saturday in the third of three gun buy-back events. Following successful events in Millville and Bridgeton earlier this month, Saturday’s buy-back will be held in Vineland at the Shiloh Baptist Church at 737 Walnut Road between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The program is sponsored by the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders in partnership with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, Prosecutor’s Office, Office of Emergency Management and local law enforcement agencies. Residents who turn in their firearms can exchange each weapon for a $50 Acme or Shoprite gift card. Participants should be aware that while BB guns, air soft guns and replica firearms will be accepted, these items are not reimbursable with food vouchers. In addition, the Sheriffs’ Department will not accept firearms from gun dealers.
