A new report says that up to 30 states may join forces in an investigation to see if Google broke the law. The Star Ledger reports that the Internet giant collected personal data via wireless networks. New Jersey is among the states that is looking to see if they did so illegally. The company has admitted that by mistake the data was obtained, but that it was done so legally. The paper says that New Jersey is just beginning to look at the potential of joining the investigation and are participating in a conference call today on the issue.
