The day many people didn’t expect to see is finally going to come. The ground breaking is set for the removal of the lights on the Garden State Parkway on Monday. A number of dignitaries will participate in the ceremony, including Congressman Frank LoBiondo. LoBiondo secured $37.1 million in federal funding for the design and construction of a project to eliminate the three traffic lights along the southern portion of the Garden State Parkway. The total cost of the project is coming in at $125 million and should take about two years to complete.
