Governor Christie was in Atlantic City on Wednesday, with a message to delegates at the New Jersey State Board of Agriculture and Vegetable Growers Association convention. Christie praised the group and told them he would be their ally in Trenton. The governor spoke for 30 minutes and talked about efforts to rebuild various agricultural sites that were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. He also noted that last year the state preserved it’s 200,000th acre of farmland and expanded programs to supply schools, food banks and homeless shelters with state-grown produce.
