GOP SWEEPS TWO COUNTY POSITIONS

Expected big wins last night for the Cape May County republican party in countywide elections on Tuesday night.  Sea Isle City Mayor and Freeholder Len Desiderio was re-elected to his freeholder position last night, knocking off challenger Walt Deegan by a nearly two to one margin.  Also winning last night was Freeholder Sue Sheppard, who ran for a surrogate’s position.  Sheppard knocked off Jeffrey Sutherland.  Now it will be up to the party to select someone to fill Sheppard’s seat on the freeholder board.
