GOING UP: CAPE MAY TO SPEND MORE ON CONVENTION HALL

The city of Cape May is prepared to spend more money on its new convention hall.  City council met on Friday afternoon and approved on first reading a new $3.15 million bond ordinance that would finance the construction of the new convention hall.  The turnout for the special meeting to approve the bond was large; some residents spoke out against spending more money on the project.  In 2008, voters had approved spending $10.5 million on the convention hall project.
