GOING UP: AC ELECTRIC WANTS TO INCREASE RATES

It looks like rates may be going up for Atlantic City Electric customers in South Jersey.  The utility announced right before the weekend that it wanted to raise the distribution rates for electricity that would add over seven dollars to the average customer’s electric bill.  The increase would total 4.1 percent and needs approvals from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.  Rates had just dropped by six percent in June because the wholesale price of electricity went down.
