An early morning fire took a child’s life. Destiny Smith died as a result of a Monday fire in Bridgeton. A report by the News of Cumberland County states that Smith was staying over a friend’s house and lived in Quinton Township. A duplex at 71-73 Church Street went up in smoke and flames around 1 a.m. Smith had a history in Bridgeton, living there until the 5th grade. At this point, investigators do not believe the fire was intentionally set.
