The 23 cent per gallon increase in New Jersey’s gasoline tax is scheduled for a vote by both houses in Trenton on Wednesday and is expected to pass. Senator Jeff Van Drew and the assemblymen from our 1st Legislative District have stated many times that they oppose any increase in the gas tax because it would be a burden to South Jersey residents. The proposal would raise $16 billion over eight years, decrease the state sales tax and eliminate the estate tax.
