Its been a long time since gas prices have been below $3 a gallon. According to AAA Mid-Atlantic, prices have been over that threshold for 1,000 consecutive days as of Tuesday. Prices have at least fallen in the past week to $3.41 a gallon, which is 40 cents better than a year ago and six cents better than a week ago. The current streak began on Dec. 23, 2010.
