According to experts quoted on NJ.com, gas prices could have reached their lowest level before rising once again. Gas prices and spot prices have reached their lowest levels since March 2009. On Jan. 13th wholesale market prices jumped by 12 cents. For consumers, this means that gas prices could continue to inch downward at name brand gas stations, while the lowest rates charged by the cheapest unbranded gas retailers could begin to increase. The “official” average price for a gallon of regular in New Jersey is now $1.97. On Monday the lowest prices found were ranging from $1.69 to $1.71 a gallon, according to Gas Buddy.com.
