On Tuesday two Cumberland County residents with symptoms of fungal meningitis sued the drug manufacturer of an allegedly tainted steroid. Brian Pennington of Vineland and Jennifer Marko of Millville are claiming that the drug company failed to establish proper safety precautions, and claim their injections could lead to an illness that causes paralysis or even death. There are 10 confirmed cases of fungal meningitis in New Jersey, six in Cumberland County and one in Atlantic County.
