FREEHOLDERS VOTE AGAINST NORTH JERSEY CASINOS

On Tuesday the Cape May County Freeholders approved a resolution in opposition to expanding casinos into northern New Jersey. The board unanimously approved a resolution to urge Governor Christie and the state legislature to “keep their promise not to permit expansion of casino gambling outside of Atlantic City.” Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton said that the local economy depends on the casino industry for thousands of jobs and would suffer a negative impact from competition of potential North Jersey casinos.
