Today’s reorganization meeting of the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders began with a medical emergency. According to Coastal Broadcasting Systems’ News Anchor Denis Brown, medical technicians had to respond to an medical emergency suffered by a man who was sitting in the audience. Medics were able to transport the man safely out of the meeting room; Brown reports that it appeared the technicians were performing CPR on the individual.
Denis Brown reports from the meeting that the individual who fell ill was Cape May County Emergency Management Director Frank McCall. As the meeting began, Freeholder Director Dan Beyel asked for a moment of silence and prayer for McCall.
McCall has served as the county’s emergency management director, and also was an elected official in Ocean City, and a former mayor of Wildwood Crest.
