The Atlantic County Division of Public Health will provide free health screenings (blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol) and health counseling services on Thursday, November 17, 3-6 PM, at the new Western Atlantic Parent-Family Support Network in celebration of National Rural Health Day.
The Western Atlantic Parent-Family Support Network is located at the Martin Luther King Center, 661 Jackson Road, Newtonville. It will hold its grand opening on November 15. It is a community-based social service program that supports parents and families in their efforts to effectively raise their children and live self-sufficiently. Services include parenting and life skills, counseling, care management, financial and health, information and referral, and literacy. It is provided by the Family Service Association with funding from the Pascale Sykes Foundation.
