Four Vineland residents were displaced but not injured by a fire that struck their residence on Tuesday evening. Fire officials were called to the fire scene at a two-story apartment building on the 700 block of East Chestnut Avenue at 7:12 p.m. The fire on the second floor was brought under control in about a half hour. There was heavy fire damage to the second floor and water and smoke damage to the first floor. Residents were provided temporary shelter by the Red Cross; a single person living on the second floor and a three-person family living on the ground floor. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
