Former Wildwood Police Sgt. David Romeo will be spending the next five years in prison. Superior Court Judge Ray Batten ruled on Friday that Romeo should get a five year prison term after he was found guilty by a jury on official misconduct charges. Romeo kicked two suspects who were handcuffed without being provoked, and Batten gave him the prison time. Batten said that Romeo never showed any remorse for the crime that he committed. The 39 year old former police officer was convicted in March of a second degree count of official misconduct. His family asked the judge for leniency, but did not get it.
