A former democratic councilman for Lower Township passed away on Friday. Joseph Lonergan of North Cape May died at the age of 93. Lonergan servered on the Lower Township council for two terms, from 1984 through 1986, and again from 1989 through 1994. Lonergan was also an officer in the Lower Township democratic club. Funeral services will be held in North Cape May on Tuesday morning.
