A former Congressman in New Jersey passed away today. State Senator Jeff Van Drew told Coastal Broadcasting that John Adler was dead today at the age of 51. He was suffering from a staph infection in his heart and was in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Adler served in Congress from 2008 to 2010, when he lost a reelection bid to former Philadelphia Eagles lineman Jon Runyan.
U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) today issued the following statement on the passing of former New Jersey Representative John Adler (NJ-03):
“Having served with John in both Washington and Trenton, I can attest that he was a good man who was deeply dedicated to South Jersey and those he represented. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Shelley, their sons and family.”
