A man who was charged with upholding the law has admitted to break it. Former Chief of Police of the Buena Borough Police Department pleaded guilty to an accusation of obtaining a prescription by fraud. David Sherma, 37, of Landisville, waived his right to Grand Jury presentation and pleaded guilty to fourth-degree obtaining a prescription drug by fraud. Sherma will be sentenced to a term of probation. Sherma also forfeited his position as Chief of Police and is barred from holding any future public office or employment in New Jersey. He was released on his own recognizance.
